3 East Coast Holiday Markets to Visit in 2015
It’s that time of year again, when the weather starts to turn colder, and the sound of holiday music begins to fill the air. Make the season special by visiting one of the festive holiday markets that can be found throughout the US. Each offers a unique buying opportunity for that hard to please person on your list. As an update to last years post, Visit a Holiday Market, which highlighted 5 popular markets in the US, here are 3 more east coast venues to add to the list. So bundle up and try something different this holiday season.
  1. Union Square Holiday Market, New York City. The market will be open from November 19th - December 24th for the 2015 holiday season.  If it is anything like the Broadway Bites food market I experienced over the summer, it’s going to be fabulous. With plenty of local vendors selling everything from jewelry and housewares, you are sure to find some unique holiday or birthday gifts.
  2. Christmas Village in Baltimore, Maryland. I love walking around the Inner Harbor in Baltimore, and look forward to visiting this authentic German Christmas market in December. Open from November 26th-December 27th (closed Dec. 1st, 8th, 15th and 25th) with more than 50 booths to browse.  Admission is free during the week, and they are open Sunday - Thursday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday-Saturday 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. Look for discount coupons and specific information about participating vendors on their website.

    3.  Christmas City, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Visit the Christkindlemarkt  in Bethlehem, where you can           shop at more than 125 vendors each week, grab a bite to eat and watch ice sculpting
demonstrations. The market is open Thursdays - Sundays through December 20th. Be sure to
check for online tickets and special events before you go.

In case you missed last years post, here are the five markets I highlighted with updated dates for the 2015 season.
  • The Holiday Shops at Bryant Park, New York City.  Open now through January 3, 2016.
  • Christmas Village in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Open November 26th - December 27th.
  • 20th Annual Christkindlemarkt, Chicago, Illinois. Open November 20th - December 24th
  • Downtown Holiday Market, Washington, DC.  Open Friday, November 27th - Wednesday December 23rd.
  • Annual Old World Christmas Market at the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart, Wisconsin. Open December 4th - 13th.

Whatever you choose, enjoy this magical time of year with your friends and family.
